http://cgi.ebay.com/the-FISHER-800-stereo-receiver-am-fm-tube-vintage_W0QQitemZ150366052511QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVi ntage_Electronics_R2?hash=item230283e09f&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14. Probably has some crazy reserve, but this one's worth a shot. It will take a hell of a lot of work, but the Fisher 800 is a nice piece. I've seen dial glasses on the 'bay for it. Please buy it, so I don't. I don't need another project.

Still at $20. Looked closer, it has a very clean chassis, transformers, and faceplate. The pots and switches are all there. All it needs is a new glass, lots o' tubes, and some TLC. Of course recapping and all that too. It's missing the tuning eye tubes also.

It sold for $116! Wish I logged on earlier and found it. That would of been a great way to get started into tubes.

Oh well, more will come later. So JT, did you get it?

Eh, I think 116 is pretty high. You're looking at $300 in tubes if you go with Electro Harmonix outputs and Telefunken 12AX7s. And I don't even know what the tuning eyes cost. But it is a clean unit to start with. Oh, I didn't get it, it that's not clear yet. I'm really looking for a 400 honestly, to finish off my set of the last Fisher tube receivers (400, 500C, 800C).

Oh, I didn't know that the cost of tubes would be that much!

Well another one will come up later.

I remember buying tubes back in 1998-99 for an old television set i had, I found someone locally then, If remember correctly I spent somewhere around $2 to $5 for each tube.. Did the values go up?
