Thought I'd share some photos of my Sony SL-C6 Mk2 (1982), Denon AVC 3530 AMP (1994) and Commodore 1084 Monitor (1987) which I'm currently working on.

Paul.

Yes, I believe the American version is SL-5000. Mine needs some work doing to it, which I intend to have done. It's a nice VCR; weighs a lot.

Cheers,

Paul.

Must be those bad caps, i think the UK version has those same bad caps which cause playback speed/tracking problems. Looks more like the American SL-5200 model

I did see on Betamax PALsite a mention about common faults, I've had a quick look and resolved "some" problems, I think I'd prefer to get this buddy professionally serviced I haven't got the skills/schematics for the timing accuracies etc.

I still have 2 Sony units, SL-5010 & SL-HFT7, both working fine. I still use the HFT7 for viewing old tapes, but it's also hooked up to my bedroom plasma because the speakers in it suck, so I use the amp in the Sony and some small speakers to help.

Although I will be getting a Beta camera & recorder, I have no idea yet what the model or specs are, but I can't wait to see it. It was going to be thrown out, but not if I can help it!
