Well, I stopped at a junk shop today and bought a craig / pioneer 3302 8 track recorder. It seems as though it has a 30 watt amplifier built into it. It is quite heavy, a good 20lbs. I guess that it plays as well as records. It has inputs for two mikes, and a component input. I'm a sucker for a nice wood cabinet. I am also wondering if this is the same Pioneer that is famous for stereos or is this some other Pioneer? They do not display the ohm symbol. Upon closer observation it does not have speaker outputs so the 30 watts must be its operating wattage. So, why is it so heavy. I never planned to buy an 8 track player. It is one of those spontaneous purchases. I would appreciate any information about this unit. Thanks
