I'm going to be getting a Sansui G-7700 for $90, it's 120 wpc.. It will be my first Sansui.. Anyone have any kind of experience with this receiver? How would you rate this model?

Adam, I have one. I do like it very much. Its very powerful and sounds real nice to my ears. Its also very heavy. 90.00 is a great deal. I paid 200.00 for mine a few summers ago. Post up some photos of it when you get it :)

Heres mine along with a brouchure :)...

I will post some photos of it, it also came with the original instructions schematics and warranty card.. I found a year on the Sansui service locations dated 1980.. Compared to the SX-1250, this thing weighs like a feather..

It definitely is no SX-1250. But still a very nice unit:)

I would love to own the G-9700... I wonder how they go on ebay? I would like that along with the Kenwood KR-9050...

I have never come across a G-9700, but I agree, it would be sweet. I really need to hit the Power Ball.

Thats great! Congrats! Post pics when you can.

Now for the G-9700 having 200wpc, I read that it was 160wpc and the G-8700 was 120wpc.

according to this and a few other sites it's 200wpc

Yeah, I can't imagine Sansui would have had two units with the same power rating. The G-7700 at 120wpc and the G-8700 also at that would not make sense. I would be happy with either 8700 or 9700 :) Can't wait for your pictures Adam
