AR turntable

Now here is something that looks very interesting. I have never heard an AR table but they do get alot of respect with some mods.

My biggest concern with buying a turntable on EBay is the shipping. I have heard horror stories about poor packing and total loss of the tables. I bought my Technics SL-1400 on there and it arrived in ok shape. The stylus was the only thing snapped off. But with tables, I try to stick to local pick up.

That is a neat turntable.. I would imagine, turntables are not shipping friendly, you have to worry about the cover breaking, and the tone are moving etc..I would imagine if someone was really good at packing, the turntable should arrive without DOA.. taking off the cartridge and taping the arm would be the best bet probably...

That is the key, taping and wrapping. My 1400 was plastic wrapped which I belived helped it alot. But I cannot imagine shipping something like my Philips Ga312 or Dual 1209, Those bounce like crazy just carrying them carefully. It must take alot of tape. The transport screws would be a must.
