hey everyone! guess who just jumped on this:
http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.p...lay&1282617785 that's right, in a week or so, i'll have my baby back!! :lol: i cannot begin to iterate just how i've missed the sweet sound and gorgeous cosmetics of this CDP. as good as my DENON DCD-1500 is, both me and my mother have critically listened to both, and we agree that the PD-91's sonics are in an entirely different league altogether!! the instruction manual describes the player's sound as "Minute Level Resolution" and that is exactly as it is. every element of an arbitrary musical program is roundly and sharply defined, NOTHING is hazed over on this remarkable CDP!! i'm so happy i could burst! i can hardly wait... ![]() ![]()

it's defiantly got alot of electronics in it, i'm sure is quit heavy for a CD player. I love those late 1980s style electronics with the wood sides. I've seen a Pioneer Laser Disc player and high end Sony Betamax recorders with the wood sides. I wondere how much you got it for?

Very nice indeed. I picked up a Kyocera DA-610 CD player thats from 1985. Pretty heavy units, but its no where near as nice as that Pioneer.

about $610.00, shipping included. this player listed $1300.00 from 1988/1990. a couple copies were auctioned on the BAY very recently. one ended around $500, the other around $200. this one was found on AUDIOGON, and the seller claims it was only used on special occasions. that is well worth the price premium to me... she's in my system now, every bit as sweet sounding
as i remember my first to be. i had a copy of the JPN market version of this player, the PD-3000, that i found on EBAY in a freak happenstance. it was non functional, and i found out that it could not be repaired, but it was still well worth the $200 i paid for it, as it's solid aluminum top panel, epoxy-resin filled main isolators and solid steel transformer support foot were all japanese market only enhancements over the mildly stripped-down U.S. PD-91 that i employed in my copy to make an already magnificent player completely perfect; before: ![]() after: ![]() ![]() PD-91 set on left, PD-3000 set on right. main isolator in background, transformer in fore;
