I don't have any but a friend of mine has two Akai reel to reels, also a Kenwood KR-5030, and a Sansui, i think Model Six, if not one identical to that, and a top of the line Dual Turntable along with a few other turntables including a Pioneer...

Default Otari Owner

Some photos of my pride and joy.

Purchased non-working. Pinch roller frozen due to dried up lubricant. Elected to disassemble rather than just soak down with solvents. Two hour job. Fixed.

Next was burned out indicators. Elected to mod to LED's. A whole 'nother story there! Fixed.

Next was home-brew remote control. Photo attached. Do not like how this turned out. Wrong graphics (should be Ampex style arrows and symbols) and console too big and clunkly. Not shown is the cool, illuminated (via LED) backlit buttons. Not shown because it is all there except the correct LED's!!!! The ones I bought (1,100mcd) are too large to fit the game style push buttons. I did design a cool relay logic circuit to ensure the "STOP" button was illuminated - a function Otari never thought of in any of the remotes for this unit.

Next is scatchy controls. Still in process.

See Photobucket stuff:
