Default More on the SL-HF600

I just tried putting a tape in my 600 for the first time in awhile, and it had a lot more trouble than I've ever seen before. First the tape went in, but the VCR didn't seem to even try to thread it. Then the carriage lifted the tape about halfway out and then pulled it back in, twice, before it threaded. I played for a few seconds and the picture looked great as usual. Then when I hit EJECT, it unthreaded the tape, but then the carriage once again took several tries to get the cassette all the way out.

Check the loading belt and and the gear alignment/timing on the FL cassette compartment assembly.

The FL cassette compartment uses some grease on its gears to lubricate it. Check to see if that has hardened at all. Also, inspect the gears for any missing teeth.

Good luck!
