Company History with VHS VCRS:

 

After Sony lost between the VHS vs. Beta war in the 1986. Sony started their own line of VHS VCRS in 1988. Though Sony was still producing their line of Betamax VCRS up until 1993, Sony was also producing their own line of Sony made VHS recorders.
